Happy New Year!!
With the start of a new year, we often dream big. But how many of those dreams make it past February? This year, let’s do things differently. Before we dive into resolutions, let’s pause for a moment of reflection. This isn’t about just tallying wins and losses—true reflection uncovers the lessons that shape our growth.
I like to ask myself: What surprised me this year? What stretched me beyond my comfort zone? These questions often reveal the path forward. While publicizing my first book, Own Your Wellness, I was pleasantly surprised that not only did I enjoy public speaking, but I was pretty good at it! That lead me to building confidence and even doing multiple live television interviews, as well as being a guest on dozens of podcasts.
But, like so many of you, I faced moments when life threw me curveballs I wasn’t sure I could hit. This year, supporting my husband through his parents’ declining health and rebuilding our home after a fire reminded me of the resilience we all have inside us- even when we doubt it.
What I'm most proud of this year was my ability to take even the most intense challenges and use them to make a change. Often, it was a change that I probably should already be making. Sometimes, I had to think outside the box. But at every turn, I didn't let myself spin or lose sight of the big picture.
I found a way to take challenges and turn them into opportunities.
As a health coach, this is also the time of year when many of my clients go dark. They have resolutions, they have a plan, and they are ready to get going on achieving those goals. But about a month after the new year, I often get peppered with questions on how they can stay on plan. Motivation starts waning. Energy is flagging. Strategies might be off a bit. I'm happy to help.
What if you approached things differently this time around?
What if this year, you assess more carefully how things went last year, and set yourself up for success with 2025's goals? Instead of just setting resolutions, let’s create a blueprint for thriving. It starts with reflection and turns into action.
These 10 questions are your guide to a year of thriving. They’re designed to help you turn reflection into action, so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.
